Hair Color and Style
Maya has short, thick reddish-brown hair that has many layers for a more voluminous look. The level of humidity and laziness determines how large and poufy Maya's hair is. She will occasionally straighten it and may or may not pull most of the right side of her hair away from her face.
Maya has no preference as to how she wears her hair. It being short, usually the only things she can to is slick it back, pin it back, wear a headband, wear a ribbon, or accessorize with a clip or barrette. She doesn't care about how nice her hair looks unless it's a formal event
Eyes
Maya has semi-childlike brown eyes that can often appear red in bright lighting. Born with naturally long, black lashes, it adds to the child-like charm.
Skin Tone and Complexion
With the inability to tan, Maya usually has the same light, fair skin color all the time. A fair complexion, Maya has sensitive skin that can easily have an allergic reaction, which causes the skin to become sore, itchy, and red.
Maya always seems to have a light, natural blush on her cheeks. She also has very, very light freckles on her shoulders.

Maya stands at around 5'6" ft and has a semi-athletic figure that leans to more on the slim side. Her chest is rather ample and aligned with her hips, giving her an hourglass figure. She weighs around 127 pounds and is hardly muscular.

Maya is all about looking good and being comfortable. Always up to date with the latest fashions, Maya can often be seen in the same clothing that was on a magazine page a few days earlier. She adores being in season.
Schoolwear:
Maya wears the traditional Ouran High School female uniform, minus the ribbon around her neck and usually gets away with wearing different shoes than the uniform dictates. Other than that, she sticks to the dress code.
Casual Wear:
Her current love is denim, dark-wash skinny jeans. So, she can usually be found wearing a pair of those. Paired with a simple black t-shirt, a white open-buttoned vest, and black, heeled ankle-boots. Maya may also pair the outfit with a necklace and earrings of some sort.
Formal Wear:
Maya loves dresses and enjoys wearing them when she gets a chance.
She has no 'favorite' dress or preference and will usually wear whatever fits the theme and whatever looks good on her.

She has a few scars from being a typical, mischievous kid. But no scar is really note-worthy or more noticable than the rest. Maya also does not have any tattoos and doesn't plan on getting any anytime soon.
Maya does have a great deal of ear-piercings, however, the standard lobe being one of them. Maya also has an upper lobe, and a labret on both ears. There is an industrial on strictly her left ear.

Personality
Maya is a very bright, very happy individual who has a positive outlook on life and all things within it. Some people often get annoyed with how she is always laughing, smiling, and generally trying to liven up the day for everyone. Regardless, Maya doesn't seem to mind and if questioned on her sunny behavior she will reply with "Happiness is key to making the world beautiful again!"
Maya is not naive, however, and knows that just being happy and cheering up others isn't enough. But it is a start and she refuses to stop just because some people find it annoying. A surprisingly intelligent girl, Maya is well educated and is more than happy to prove how much she knows.
Perverted by nature, Maya often times has difficulty understand that personal space and boundaries exist and gets confused if pushed away or scolded. She never means to offend or anger.
A rather child-ish girl, Maya also enjoys playing games and telling riddles or jokes and can become offended if the point isn't coming across. A terrible joke-teller, this often happens a lot.
Maya also considers everyone her friend but her best-friends are the ones she holds near and dear to her heart and would selflessly take a bullet for them.

Biography
According to the medical records, Maya was the result of an unwanted pregnancy to a woman, who at the time, was sixteen years of age. Put up for adoption, Maya stayed in the Adoption Clinic until the age of four, and finally adopted to two people who couldn't have a child of their own.
Maya had a happy home-life and usually got whatever it was she wanted, but was taught that just because the had lots of things, she wasn't supposed to be selfish or rude about it.
School life was noticeably difficult for Maya and she was teased quite a bit for how 'goofy' she looked. At a young age, Maya had a fairly large nose and was called 'Big-Nose' and 'General Snoz-Worth' and lots of other things that hurt the young girls feelings. It was on Valentines Day, when Maya was eight years old, did she finally tell someone about the hurtful things she endured at school.
It started as the class gave out Valentines. Blushing and nervous, Maya ran up to a boy her age that she had a very large crush on. The boy accepted the Valentine, but upon seeing who it was from, promptly discarded it into a trash can. Maya was forced to go home early because she wouldn't stop crying.
It was her adopted mother that caused her to act the way she does to this day. An hour after coming home, Maya had finally calmed down enough to talk to her mom about what was wrong. After spilling her guts about the bullying, her mother told her that people were always going to be mean and say hurtful things, but the one thing she could always use against them...Was her smile.
From that day, Maya always smiled. No matter how hurt, sad, or angry she was...She smiled, and made it a point to get others to smile too!
At around the age of ten, Maya fell in love with musical arts and begged her parents to give her a piano instructor. She was fully dedicated to her lessons and loved the sounds that came from the piano, despite a few missed keys. Maya was a quick learned and almost mastered the piano by age 14. But her piano instructor passed away from a sudden Heart-Attack and Maya quit piano playing, seeing as the teacher had become her dear friend and she wanted no other teacher.
Maya had been in a public school for most of her life, but was put in a private Academy her first year of High School. By now she had grown into her nose, thankfully.
Wanting to start new, Maya cut off most of her long hair before she started Ouran and was relieved at how nice the people seemed to be.
No one has openly teased her since joining Ouran, much to Maya's relief. Maya now keeps her hair cut short to symbolize that she is a 'new person.'
